SO GOOD WITH THE CUTEST OWNERS. 852 is the HK area code ๐ฅบ obsessed w the decor, some of it is the ownerโs personal items that have sentimental value (her grandpaโs ๐ฅบ a piece of her family here w her). The drink name posters were adorable and had the funnest stories
Okay, for starters - I love this place! It instantly reminds me of Asia, from the friendly staff to the amazing variety of food. Everything tastes so good, especially when served fresh out of the oven or wok - the dishes are definitely best enjoyed hot. The retro vibes are unmatched, there are free board games to play, and the owners organise so many fun events. This has become my go-to spot, and Iโll definitely be a regular. Canโt wait to visit again! ๐โจ
Savour Asian comfort food just a few minutes from Newtown Station! The vibes really transport us straight to Hong Kong! Particularly enjoy the soft and fluffy Lava Bao Buns with flowy and yummy egg yolk custard and black sesame fillings! Loved 8.52 Newtown! The vibe instantly took me back to classic Hong Kong cafรฉs โ neon lights, vintage dรฉcor, and all the nostalgia. The food was amazing: the Lamb Belly Hotpot was melt-in-your-mouth good, Wonton Noodle Soup was pure comfort, and the HK French Toast with peanut butter and ice cream was next-level. Great drinks, friendly service, and a true taste of Hong Kong in Newtown. Highly recommend!
