Tried steamed chicken dumplings which was great and vegetables noodles were awesome as well Must recommend for those 2. Cheers

I’m not gonna lie i’m about 7 months late to this review, But for a place this special it’s better late than never. If happiness had a street address, it’d be parked right inside Chef’s Chow Mein in Surfers Paradise. I walked in feeling like a lost soul, and walked out feeling like a newborn golden retriever who just discovered sunshine. The husband-and-wife owners? Man… they’re like two beautiful spirits who escaped a Hallmark movie because they got bored of being perfect. The husband greeted me like he already knew my childhood trauma, and the wife had this energy like she could single-handedly fix my credit score AND my self-esteem. And the serving sizes? Brother… they handed me a plate so big I thought it was a prank. It looked like they’d cooked enough chow mein to feed the cast of a Fast & Furious movie. Prices? Cheaper than therapy and twice as effective. I paid like twelve bucks and left with leftovers, emotional closure, and a new sense of purpose. The place has that real family feel too—like if you sat there long enough they’d adopt you and make you do the dishes just to build character. If you need your belly full, your spirits lifted, or your soul reset get yourself to Chef’s Chow Mein. I’d give it six stars if Google wasn’t being stingy.

I got the Singaporean noodles in a small size and was blown away by how generous the proportion was, especially for the price. The food was SO good with good amounts of vegetables and meat (which some places often aren’t as generous with due to cost) and the staff was very nice too. Ended up storing the rest of the noodles in a takeaway box as it was just so much. Amazing value! Highly recommend it and wish I had the time in my trip and room in my stomach to try some of their other stuff.

I think this is the first time I feel like writing a review while still being at the restaurant, I just really wanted to share how much I enjoyed it, we had the wonton soup, spicy braised beef noodles, the pork burger and the steam bun. The pork burger was really good, and I love wonton, these ones hit the right spot. The beef in the noodles was so tender and tasty, last, although I am not the biggest fan of steam buns, the stuffing of this one was really good 😋
