This is not a traditional Asian restaurant, but rather a confident reworking of familiar flavours through a contemporary lens. The menu leans into boldness and play, while remaining respectful of its influences. One of the highlights was the barramundi with crispy skin. The taste was so familiar - reminded me of the good old days in Singapore. The garlic butter udon - the sound of it didn’t have much appeal to me at first, but I was wrong. It’s kind of like a carbonara style udon that you can imagine yourself eating in a Hong Kong Cha Charn Teng. These two dishes were so tasty that I dug in straight away and forgot to take photos. The fry rice has Wok-Hei which was good Chu the Phat succeeds not by imitation, but by reinterpretation, offering Asian-inspired food with confidence and charm.

I had been wanting to visit Chu The phat for quite a while, and it was definitely worth the wait. The food was immaculate, incredibly aromatic and a symphony of complex delicate flavours. Hands down the best food I have ever eaten. My partner, who used to be a chef and has an excellent palate, was in bliss the entire time, and has not stopped raving about how fantastic the food was. The presentation of the food was absolutely stunning as well. The venue itself was very chic, it gave modern upper class without the stuffiness. All of the staff were fantastic. We had a wonderful experience here.

This place is definitely worth the hype! We started with incredibly creamy, fresh oysters topped with a citrus jelly—absolutely divine. That was followed by the mushroom and tofu hotpot, which was clearly made with love. The dish was rich, comforting, and packed with flavour.

Such a find during my stay in Brisbane! The food was so yummy with some excellent spice 🌶. Fresh, clean food..excellent customer service too. Jackson and the staff are exceptional. Jackson continues to look after me when I visit, he is very knowledgeable and informed about the menu and spot on with portion sizes and recommendations. I have been back heaps as the food continues to be impressive and yummy...well done 😁

Phenomenal Experience at Chu the Phat 🌟🌟🌟 We had the most incredible night at Chu the Phat! The atmosphere was vibrant, and every dish was bursting with flavour — perfectly cooked and timed to perfection. Our server Layla was an absolute star💫 — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience effortless. 10/10 service! The cocktails were amazing too — especially the Sweet Cheeks, my new favourite 🍹. Fantastic food, great vibes, and impeccable service. We’ll definitely be back! 🙌
