First time trying Cantonese-style omakase. Didnโt expect it to be this good tbh. The jellyfish at the start was super refreshing. You can really taste the sea. Very fresh. After one bite of pork belly, I went back to the jellyfish again. It cleans your mouth so well. The one-bite fish eggplantโฆ so so so goood. Outside a bit crispy, inside soft and juicy. Really didnโt expect that. Crispy chicken skin with crab roe strips was very nice too. Crispy outside, soft inside. The flavour was just right. Iโm not a beef person at all, but the wagyu dish had no beef smell, so I could really enjoy it. Winter melon soup with crab fish and maw = MVP !!! ๐๐๐ very comforting and clean! Full of flavour. U can tell it takes time to make. I literally finished the whole bowl without thinking. The coral trout dish was my first time trying something like this. It looked like corn and there was actually corn in it. One bite without the sauce : wow, fish was so fresh! With the sauce: next level ! ๐คฉ Steamed loofah with oyster was very refreshing . Oyster was very fresh. It felt healthy but still very flavourful. Crispy duck leg with taro surprised me. Not a taro person, but this combo was very special. Portion is a bit big for me tho. Smaller would be perfect. Pork lard tossed rice felt very HongKong style, but done better. The chef told us this dish is inspired by his mom, and u can really feel the heart behind it. It didnโt just taste good, it felt meaningful. Lastly, the dessert. It was like a Chinese donut with yingyang milk tea cream. Even tho it was deep fried, it didnโt feel oily at all. A very nice way to end the meal. Atmosphere was simple and nice. Loved the calm bgm. Everything tgt just felt good. Thank you chef and the team. 9.5/10 - minus 0.5 only because I was too full ๐ I didnโt expect the menu to be this filling, and that actually makes it very worth the money. Will definitely return!
Being of Cantonese ethnicity I was hoping eating at DOM I'd experience an uplifted version of what I remember eating growing up and it delivered in spades. Apart from the crispy pork which the crackling was slightly chewy (but great fresh mustard sauce), everything else was fantastic. I especially loved the coral trout with sweet corn sauce, nostalgic but with an elevated technique. Will come back and highly recommend.
Excellent meal, there were no misses in all courses. Some skillful techniques demonstrated, such as layering corn ribs on top of perfectly cooked coral trout, coated with a light tempura batter. I found the taste very true to classic Cantonese flavours, light and natural. I also very much liked the teas offered in the pairing and appreciated the attention to detail, right down to the extra amenities in the bathroom. They change the menu every 3 months so I'll be back at some point. Very glad we came to try this.
Had the Canton tasting menu and it was a fantastic experience. The char siu was juicy, tender, and full of flavor, pairing perfectly with the springy noodles. Each course was beautifully presented, from the delicate scallop dish to the foie gras toast topped with ikura. A refined take on classic Cantonese flavors, executed with great balance and elegance.
Cantonese style omakase, around 10 seats per seating. The environment of the place is quiet. Service is great. Food is tasty and well balanced for the style of cuisine. For the price paid, it is quite value for money as they use quality and health beneficial ingredients. The amount of food they provided is quite filling even though it serve by per person amount.
