More expensive than other malatang across Sydney. The stir fried is not as good including tomato based soup. Not coming back here again

Tried their mala xiang guo here. Flavours are rich and nicely numbing without being too oily. Ingredients are fresh and you can choose exactly what you want, which is great. Portion size is decent and it comes out pretty fast. Good spot in Chatswood if you’re craving mala xiang guo.

A mesmerizing experience for sure. I love how easy and simple this place is. You just grab your ingredients in a bowl and pick the soup your want. Boom, done and they cook it for you. The Pork Bone Broth and the Tomato Soup is absolutely delicious. I love how fresh the ingredients are in here and how organized it is. Also, credit to them for having vegetarian options too. My soup was filling and it left me wanting more however, considering how you can also customize the soup further by adding additional stuff on the right side of the place. Like chill oil, soy sauce and garlic… I absolutely will be back and have to have more. (My soup is Bok Choy, Enoki Mushrooms, Broccoli, Crispy Peas, Bean Sprouts and Sweet Potato Noodles with Pork Bone Broth Soup. I added Soy Sauce, Spring Onions, Chili Oil and a little Garlic for flavor. I’d recommend doing this if you want something hearty!)

There is a poster at the front of the cashier area saying if you give a 'good' review you get a free drink. Perhaps the current score is unrealistically high or the restaurant is actually really good. Regardless, I had a pretty good experience in terms of dining and the food itself, and no, I did not get a free drink. You pick what food you like and put them in a huge plastic bowl which is then weighed at the front. Don't worry, the bowl is pretty light, so it might cost you a fish meatball or two on the scale. I will return just for the spicy bone broth and the spicy sauce. One negative, I finished everything in my bowl except the corn cob (it was tasteless and inedible). How could such raw and unprocessed food taste so bad? Was it real corn? I wonder to this day.
