Such a friendly warm place to go and the dishes are fresh and full of flavour. Black bean beef was a standout melt in ur mouth 😁

We love the Golden Chef. Lillian and Peter are hard-working people who want you to have a good meal. The food is honest and the Malay style of Chinese Food. We especially love the fresh herb duck, the Egg Fried Rice, Prawn Toast!!, the Duck pancakes, the hand made spring rolls. To top it off the Deep Friend Ice Cream is awesome. Ask for extra sauce. It's BYO and fantastic. The closest thing to going to Asia without getting on a plane.

Old school suburban Australian/Cantonese Chinese food. Small dine in area with little ambience but cool retro features like the wooden wall panelling and ornate plaster ceilings. We ordered the duck pancakes ($23.50) which were 4 pieces. Generous with the duck breast meat and great hoisin sauce flavour. For main we got the Sizzling Mongolian Lamb ($28.80). Let me just say I think this is the best Mongolian Lamb I've ever eaten in Australia and I've eaten and reviewed so many! Thinly sliced tender meat.. excellent wok hei char on the meat, onions, shallots and what I think was slices morning glory stems. Super tasty sauce. The 2 x portion of steamed rice ($4 per portion) was more rice than we could eat. Service was slow but they were getting slammed with phone and take away orders at 6pm on a Saturday night. Only appeared to be the lovely lady on the front counter and one chef out the back so they were pumping out the orders. Hostess apologised twice for the wait while serving our food and honestly we were fine with it as they were doing their best but appreciate that it was acknowledged. Cash only, free and plentiful on street parking. Prices a little higher but inline with the area. We stopped for dinner here before doing a tour at Q Station which is only 5 mins drive away. Consider dinner here on your way to Q to avoid the chaos of Manly corso.

Great little Chinese restaurant a little out of the way. Cash only. Absolutely lovely lady that runs the place. Atmosphere for eat in is not awesome, but takeaway is excellent and travels well. Recommend all the classics - chilli salt prawns, rainbow beef, duck pancakes, ma Po tofu, the list goes on. Super popular for take away on Friday / Saturday so you can ring ahead.
