Absolutely stunning experience. I visited this restaurant twice, once by myself and once with friends, and both times were wonderful. On both visits, there was live jazz, and the performances were excellent. The music, combined with the lighting and overall energy of the space, made it feel special yet very comfortable. The food is Japanese-inspired, and as a Japanese person, I was genuinely impressed by the way Japanese cuisine is interpreted here. It felt thoughtful and creative, and I especially loved the eggplant tempura. The floor manager who looked after us was attentive and made our table feel genuinely comfortable throughout the night. We really enjoyed chatting with her. It’s the kind of place that feels just as right for a quiet solo visit as it does for a night out with friends. Highly recommended.

Speechless! I have not been to a restaurant that not only has the best service from their staff especially Jan and Larissa but THE MOST DELICIOUS FOOD IN BRISBANE. The prawn toast, the kushiyaki, the bao buns and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!

I’ve been here a few times now, and it’s always a great experience. This time, I visited for a weekday casual dinner again. The service is always spot-on, attentive and friendly. It’s a place that strikes the perfect balance between casual and special, whether you’re there for a casual meal or a small get-together with friends. I highly recommend Mr.Vain! it’s definitely become one of my go-to spots!

Welcoming busy venue with amazing front of house staff, you may need to book a table or put your name down on the wait list. The Kingfish was delicious excellent combination with a crunchy caviar finish. Gyoza was great along with the spicy edamame beans. Drinks are standard price with a wide selection.

We had dinner here last Friday and were absolutely blown away! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional – especially from Jennifer, who truly made our night. She was warm, engaging, and incredibly attentive. The food was equally impressive – every dish was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. We couldn’t fault a single thing.
