If you like spicy food you definitely will love here! The fried fish fillet and oxtongue is really delicious. Very good place for friends catching up.
A great Sichuan restaurant near the University of Sydney. Dishes are freshly cooked and you can adjust the flavours to your own taste. Very friendly flavours and affordable prices.
CHUNXI NORTH’s Sichuan cuisine is incredibly authentic! I really love their Fish Fillet in Pickled Vegetable Soup. The golden-colored broth is rich and flavorful, the fish slices are tender, sour, and spicy, and the dish is complemented by savory enoki mushrooms, chewy glass noodles with a tangy kick, and refreshingly sour pickled vegetables. I also enjoy the Fiery Stir-Fried Double Offals. The crispy beef tripe and omasum are stir-fried with black fungus with chilies, creating a dish that is intensely spicy, fragrant, and absolutely satisfying. I highly recommend the Fresh Chili Beef with Tofu Pudding. This dish is wonderfully spicy and delicious—the beef is juicy, tender, and boldly flavored, while the tofu pudding is soft, silky, and spicy. It’s truly amazing. I also love the Golden Egg Fried Rice. The rice is perfectly cooked with a beautiful golden color, well-seasoned but not overly salty, and each grain is fluffy and distinct. The staff there are very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely visit again.
Authentic Sichuan spot—generous portions, great value! Love their spicy chili chicken and dry pot spare ribs (bold flavors!). Free rice and mung bean soup, perfect with the spice. Highly recommend for Sichuan fans!
Really impressed by this spot — the flavours are authentic Sichuan, not the watered-down kind you sometimes find in Sydney. You can tell they use fresh ingredients — the aroma of the dried chilies and peppercorns hits you the moment the dishes come out. Highly recommend trying the La Zi Ji (辣子鸡) — perfectly crispy chicken, fragrant with Sichuan pepper, and just the right level of heat. It’s the kind of dish that makes you keep reaching for one more bite. Other dishes were also well-balanced, spicy but layered, with that signature numbing kick. Service was friendly and the food came out fast. If you love real Sichuan flavours, this place is definitely worth a visit.
