The karaage fried chicken is delicious! The fries are also delicious. They're just a bit small especially given the premium price.

Great food friendly environment the best chips I have ever had I stopped by Smallgrain recently and was blown away by how good their hot chips were! Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right — you can tell they put real care into making them. The portion size was generous, and they were fresh and piping hot when served. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the place made the experience even better. If you’re looking for the best hot chips around, Smallgrain is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🍟🔥

Cute little restaurant with limited seating. You can get take away and have at home or in the park over the road. Healthy bowls of filling of your choice at a reasonable price.

What a gem! Happened to go here with some locals from Launceston who know really good quality food. The service was fast, friendly, and the overall vibe was nourishing. Parking was easy just on the street. There are only a handful of chairs inside but takeaway is definitely a strong point for them. We opted to eat outside which was great. I’ve learned they were doing street food before opening up the restaurant and clearly they have got it right! Will definitely go here again! All very reasonably priced too!

Walked past this cute restaurant and was impressed with the small menu..I tried the beef bowl yesterday and the karaage chicken rice bowl today. The chicken rice bowl is a definite winner. Chicken was nice and juicy without being greasy. There's not many good Asian restaurants in Launceston so Small Grain is a winner at the moment.
