I ordered the fried rice with prawns, $19.80 Fried rice was quite bland for my taste ...lucky I ordered the prawns as the protein. Their speciality is Dumplings so I will try that next time and update this review.
Delicious, affordable, unpretentious, fresh dumplings and other Asian food. Favourites were the egg chives and prawn dumplings and braised beef! Simple unfussy but friendly service and atmosphere.
Gave it 5 stars for everything with the understanding that service is fast and no nonsense, atmosphere is tissue boxes and linoleum, food is truly handmade and absolutely delicious. Itโs exactly as it says on the box - handmade noodles and dumplings, plus a few other things. Very northern Chinese, generous servings and lots of leftovers.
Sui's Handmade Dumplings offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere perfect for dumpling lovers. During our visit, we sampled a variety of their offerings, including the pork prawn and chive pan-fried dumplings, pork and cabbage pan-fried dumplings, fried noodles with vegetables, and crystal prawn dumplings. The pork prawn and chive dumplings were a standout, boasting a flavorful and succulent filling that was perfectly complemented by the crispiness of the pan-fried exterior. Similarly, the pork and cabbage dumplings delivered a satisfying balance of savoury pork and tender cabbage, making each bite a delight. The fried noodles with vegetables were another highlight of the meal. The noodles were cooked to perfection with a satisfying chewiness, and the vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned, creating a harmonious blend of flavours. Unfortunately, the crystal prawn dumplings fell short of expectations. While the taste was decent, the filling-to-pastry ratio was off, with too much pastry overwhelming the delicate prawn filling. Fewer dumplings with more filling would have been preferable to enhance the overall experience. Despite this minor setback, Sui's Handmade Dumplings impresses with its delicious and well-crafted dishes. We look forward to returning and trying more items from their menu.
I think these might be my favourite dumplings in Sydney and theyโre handmade! Iโve tried four different flavours, all very unique! My favourite at the moment are the chicken and watercress and cilantro - highly recommend. Zucchini and egg was surprisingly good too! Itโs a small spot with about 5 tables. Take away is also available. Canโt wait to try all the dumpling flavours!
