I have been coming here for lunch ever since discovering this amazing eatery a few years ago. Their lunch menu have changed over the years, serving noodles (beef pho, BBH, hu tieu nam vang), banh mi, bo ne and dishes centred around chicken on the current menu. Everything I have tried here was 5 stars in flavour, portion size and presentation. I was especially impressed with the hu tieu nam vang - a noodle dish with prawn, pork mince, pork intestines and quail egg. Every item was flavoursome on its own, including the pickled cauliflower and radish and the soup (served on the side). The herbal tea and pandan iced coffee were also delicious, but I did not like the latte that I ordered one time. The interior is what I imagine an hedonistic shanghai-nese bar in the 1920s would have looked like (minus the cigarette smoke, since there is no smoking in Australia). There is cool jazz music play, and the furniture and fitout is very classy and comfortable. Overall, the lunch menu is really well priced and offers excellent value for the quality of food delivered.

A lovely dining experience with a beautiful fit out, great ambiance and delicious food. Live jazz was really nice and made the experience special. Recommend ordering the kingfish and the wagyu noodles. Their cocktail menu is unique and delicious. Service was kind and attentive but at times felt rushed. Highly recommend and will be coming back

When walking in, the restaurant looks upmarket and modern Asian. We were a large group so had the set menu which really was very hit and miss. I was lucky enough to be sitting next to a vegetarian so got to try their dishes as well. The highlights were the spring rolls which were amazing and the Kungpao Mock chicken which you wouldn’t believe was not really chicken. It is priced on the higher end and I’m not sure lives up to it. I don’t live close by and it just didn’t grab me enough to say I want to come back.

We had dinner tonight with some friends visiting from out of town. Wow! Even better than we remembered. The prawn spring rolls were outstanding. Our friend said "possibly the best spring roll I've had in my life". Striking the right balance between casual and fine dining, beautifully presented food that delivers on taste. The live jazz band adding such a great vibe. D's Bar & Dining is such a welcome addition to the thriving Marrickville scene. So close to the train/metro line too. Highly recommend.
