Three Elephants and Co is seriously overpriced compared to other Sri Lankan restaurants ๐ I usually buy lamb or beef pan rolls for around $3.90 max but here they are $12 each which was shocking. Even egg roti which normally costs around $4.90 is priced at $30 here ๐ฏ Kottu roti that is usually about $15 is also $30 at this place I really think they need to be more reasonable and affordable with their pricing. I understand it is located in St Kilda but there are plenty of cheap eats nearby with similar atmosphere and vibes ๐ฝ๏ธโจ Personally I would not recommend this Sri Lankan restaurant unless you are okay paying way more than usual. It is definitely not value for money ๐ธ Most people may not know the actual prices of these traditional food items which is probably why they end up paying without realising how overpriced it is Overall very disappointing for what is meant to be everyday Sri Lankan food ๐
We tried their hopper and kothu and both tasted excellent. The food is flavourful with a nice spicy. Place has a good vibe to chill in the evening. Definitely coming back soon!!
We visited to celebrate a birthday, and the strong reviews helped us choose this restaurant. The food was delicious and full of flavour - slightly on the salty side, but easily balanced with rice or bread. We came on a Wednesday to enjoy the mud crab special and ordered Sri Lankan croquettes, grilled chilli pepper prawns, lamb egg roti, Negombo fish curry, a lamb pot, and a garlic chilli mud crab. The entrรฉes arrived first and set a good pace, but the mud crab and mains were served all at once. Since crab is more fiddly to eat, the mains had cooled by the time we got to them. We didnโt mind too much, but a bit more spacing between dishes would have made the experience even better. Overall, it was an enjoyable night, and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere.
We visited specially for their famous mud crabs โ and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Everything tastes homemade and freshly prepared, with authentic Sri Lankan flavours that instantly remind you of home. We went on their Mud Crab Night (every Wednesday) and the crab was cooked to perfection โ tender, juicy, and full of flavour. We also tried a few other dishes, and every item was spot on โ fresh, beautifully balanced, and clearly made with care. The friendly service and warm atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving true Sri Lankan food
The food is unreal, and the service is full of warmth. Had the curry crab and it was delicious! The entrees were also very well done. Highly recommend if youโre after bold flavours and genuine hospitality.
