Korean Fried Chicken is slowly becoming as popular in Australia—and certainly in some parts of certain cities, more so—than its American counterpart. The top contender for the KFC acronym crown is being executed with increasing quality and creativity as chefs from Korea are deterring from their day jobs in Aussie hospitality to open venues that showcase recipes nearer and dearer to their hearts and stories. Yes Chicken in Manly is younger contender in the Sydney scene. A one-of-one, the chef, previously of a renowned inner west Ramen Shop now produces comfort Korean food out of a townhouse conversion on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. It’s a simple menu that’s built for economy yet delivered really well. With no KFC chains in sight (not even the Colonel close by) you can’t say anything but “Yes” to get your fix of the fried bird. Classic flavours are in rotation: yangnyeom (sweet and spicy), honey soy, soy garlic, spring onion and classic plus specials from time. Other dishes served around the side or not-chicken consist of classic quick noodle dishes, bulgogi and tofu. All the acrudiments such as kimchi and pickle are separately sold in more shareable sizes, so this spot works really well as a takeaway to picnic with a feast by the sea.

so I didn’t have a plan to visit this restaurant because the one that I wana visit was closed, so I decided to try this. the bulgogi taste ok, like standard nothing special and nothing bad either (still delicious), idk if he used a store bought seasoning or from the scratch they also have bibimbab which isn’t on the menu and I wanna give a try later. he’s working on his own so do not expect to be served in a second like in maccas, and he also do the cashier stuff which is very stressful, so just give a time for him

One of the best korean fried chicken with garlic soy sauce I've had. The sauce drizzled on the chicken was just done at the right amount, not overpowering the chicken's crunchiness. The chicken skin has a very distinct spiced powder that makes the taste to another level. It's so good. The full loaded chips were a good call. The seaweed and chilli sauce topping make the chips very fragrant. Sitting outside at the verandah, people watching and seeing the ferry offloading crowds to Manly was a bonus to us.

Been in Sydney 2 months. This is the best food I’ve had so far. Jesus wept you need to try this place. I could have stayed there all day and night the flavours are out this world! Thank you!!

One of the best, if not the best Korean Fried Chicken that I’ve ever tried. Despite opening not too long ago, the food here is top tier👌 and it’s really suited to a diverse group of people. Tried a variety of the food and loved it all but my personal favorites would be the Salt and Pepper chicken wings, and the Honeycomb Chicken wings. Because the beach is right in front, you can really experience a nice view with a cool breeze during a sunny day, whilst eating delicious food~ Definitely is a place that will go really big, and it is also a place that makes you want to keep going back for more!
