I'm going try not to hammer this place because the old couple were absolutely lovely and it's clearly their life. The dim Sims were some of the worst I've ever had, spring rolls average, fried rice average and the special combination was also average (flavour) but had this smell of something very unpleasant, all in all I had a bad experience. The price was reasonable and seeing soo many 5 star reviews I'd love to know if I've got them on a bad night or people just haven't had good Chinese? Unfortunately from my experience alone I wouldn't recommend.

Honestly the best honey chicken and fried rice I’ve had in a very long time, I don’t usually eat much but I woofed my whole thing down. Not super sweet, didn’t taste like the usual “fast food” chinese takeaway, it tasted like actual fresh food. My partner is extremely picky about his Chinese food, he ordered a garlic chicken and said it’s the best he’s ever had. Not to mention the couple are so so sweet, and both greet you as you come in the door and chat while getting your order ready. 100% our new Chinese takeout place.

After hearing about Ying King recently and struggling to find a good Chinese restaurant around the Newcastle area, my partner and I gave it a go. Ying King did not disappoint at all and it was by far one of the best Chinese meals either of us had ever had. I cannot recommend a particular meal as it was all so good and very affordable. We will definitely be back and I encourage anyone and everyone to get a meal from Ying King.
